Rizer vs. Clozd Win-loss research vs. closed-lost analysis

Clozd interviews a sample of your buyers. Rizer reads every loss you have.

Depth on a sample, or coverage across all of it.

A win-loss research program interviews the buyers who agree to talk, and does it properly, in their own words. Rizer analyses every closed-lost deal and disqualified lead in HubSpot automatically, so the pattern comes from the whole population rather than a sample. These are different instruments, and the honest comparison is coverage against conversation.

Which one do you actually need?

Choose Rizer when

  • You lose more deals per quarter than anyone could interview.
  • You need answers continuously, not on a research calendar.
  • Disqualified leads matter as much as closed-lost deals.
  • You want the analysis to end in a callback list, not only a report.

Choose Clozd when

  • Deal sizes are large enough to justify interviewing buyers one by one.
  • You need direct quotes and narrative for board or product decisions.
  • You want an outside team to run the research program for you.
  • Your loss volume is low enough to interview a meaningful share of it.

Run both when

  • You want interviews aimed at the segment that is actually bleeding.
  • Qualitative depth needs quantitative backing to be believed.
  • Research findings need a recovery motion attached to them.

What a full-population read looks like.

Not a research report. A ranked list of what is costing you revenue across every loss, with an owner on each line, and a queue of lost deals whose blocking reason no longer applies.

Feature by feature, without the spin.

The last group is the one worth reading: it lists where Clozd is the better buy and Rizer is not. If a comparison table written by a vendor never loses a row, it is an ad, not a table.

Rizer vs Clozd, answered

Is Rizer a win-loss interview service?

No. Rizer does not interview buyers and does not plan to. It analyses the lead and deal history in HubSpot, which is why it can cover every loss rather than a sample, and why it cannot tell you what a buyer was thinking.

Can Rizer replace our win-loss program?

It replaces the part that is really pattern-finding across many losses, and it does that across all of them rather than a sample. If you specifically need the buyer’s own account of a decision, whether for a board deck, a positioning rewrite, or a product bet, interviews still do something Rizer does not.

What about deals with almost no notes?

Thin records still carry signal: segment, source, timing, competitor fields, stage reached, and how the deal moved. Rizer reads the pattern across many of them rather than depending on any single record being well written. Where the signal genuinely is not there, the report says so instead of inventing a reason.

Why not just build a HubSpot report, or export closed-lost to a spreadsheet and ask ChatGPT?

A HubSpot report can only group by the closed-lost dropdown, so it tells you what reps typed, not what happened. A spreadsheet export plus a chat model gets closer, but it reads the records you happened to export, has no view of stage movement, competitor fields, email and note history, or the leads that never became deals, and it produces a different answer every time you ask. Rizer runs the same analysis against your full history on a schedule, keeps the evidence trail per finding, and ends in a callback list rather than a paragraph.

We run on Salesforce, not HubSpot. Can we use this?

Salesforce support is on the roadmap. Rizer runs on HubSpot today because the analysis is built around how HubSpot models lead and deal history, and doing that properly per CRM is the work. If you are on Salesforce, talk to us now and we will line you up for it.

How do we know the analysis is not just guessing?

Every verdict is traceable. Open any loss driver and you get the individual deals and leads it was built from, the fields and history that produced the classification, and the cases where Rizer disagreed with the reason a rep recorded. Check the evidence on a handful of deals you remember personally before you trust the aggregate. That is the review we ask new customers to do first.

What does Rizer get access to, and does it write anything back?

Read-only HubSpot scopes covering contacts, companies, deals, and associated activity. Nothing is written back to your CRM, no fields are created, and no records are modified. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never used to train shared models. We are mid-SOC 2 Type II and will send the current report and our sub-processor list to your security team on request.

How long until the first real answer?

Connecting HubSpot takes about 15 minutes and is a standard OAuth flow. The first analysis runs against history you already have and comes back the same day, typically within a few hours depending on how many records you are bringing. There is no data collection period to wait through.

What does it cost?

Annual pricing scales with the size of your sales team, and it is a line item rather than a procurement cycle. Current tiers are on the pricing page; if your setup is unusual, the audit call ends with a number.

Interviews explain the losses you can get on a call. See the pattern across all of them.

Connect HubSpot read-only and get your own ranked loss drivers and callback list back the same day, then point your interviews at whatever it surfaces.

Read-only access. Nothing written back to your CRM. No buyer scheduling.
